Independent Medical Evaluations

Through our alliance with expert medical doctors and healthcare specialists we are able to offer a broad range of independant medical assessment services such as Independent Medical Examinations, Functional Abilities Evaluations, Physical Demands Analysis and In-Home Assessments.

Independent Medical Examinations (IME)

We provide Independant Medical Evaluations (IME) ACE has a broad network of medical specialists across Ontario working with us to provide independant medical evaluations. Hiring clinicians with ample industry experience, we dedicate ourselves to finding the right specialist for the type of injury to be assessed.

Unlike our competitors who list hundreds or thousands of medical evaluators that they are aligned with, ACE has a small dedicated roster of medical evaluators that do a large share of our medical assessments. We keep the roster smaller, so as to obtain preferred timelines at reasonable rates to pass along to our clients. All of our doctors are qualified and dedicated to writing defensible assessment reports produced on a timely basis.

Physical Demands Analysis (PDA)

We provide Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) A physical demands analysis (PDA) or job-site analysis (JSA) is conducted on-site to assess the essential duties and corresponding physical demands of an individual's occupation. The physical demands analysis includes a comprehensive interview with the supervisor and a scientific assessment of the worker’s required activities.

At ACE, we ensure that each physical demands analysis performed can be linked to our functional abilities evaluation so as to create a more defensible response for return to work questions.

Functional Abilities Evaluations (FAE)

We provide Functional Abilities Evaluations (FAE) A functional abilities evaluation (FAE) objectively determines the claimant’s functional abilities and restrictions (i.e. strength, dexterity, endurance, etc.). By comparing FAE results to job requirements, the evaluation helps to facilitate a safe and timely return to the workplace. It can also help insurers to determine the extent to which physical impairments are present. ACE hires kinesiologists and regulated health care professionals who are well trained in their chosen FAE testing methodology.

In-Home Assessments

We provide Occupational in-home Assessments (OA) An in-home assessment is conducted at the claimant’s residence to identify pre-injury activities of daily living, including personal care, housekeeping and home maintenance. This assessment allows an occupational therapist (OT) to evaluate the claimant’s ability to meet functional requirements and make recommendations related to safety concerns, home layout modifications, assistive devices or external assistance. Our network of OT’s have experience in assessing acquired brain injury, hospital discharge planning, and attendant care planning.
